How to take care of your skin this winter!

How to take care of your skin this winter

Now that we are heading towards colder times, many of us feel that our skin is changing. Perhaps you have already noticed that it feels tighter, drier or even irritated? It's nothing unusual - winter affects the skin in several ways, but there is a lot we can do to keep it soft, hydrated and balanced.

How does winter affect the skin?

During the winter, the skin is exposed to a lot of stress:

  • Cold and wind: These external factors can damage the skin's protective barrier, leading to dryness and irritation.
  • Dry indoor air: Elements and heating fans suck the moisture out of the air – and your skin.
  • Reduced sebum production: In winter, the skin produces less natural oils, making it drier and sometimes scaly.
  • Contrasts between hot and cold: The constant changes between cold outdoor air and warm indoor air can stress the skin and cause redness.

What can we do to protect and care for the skin this winter?

Here are some simple and effective tips to help you keep your skin in top shape, even when the temperature drops:

1. Switch to a richer moisturizer

Your summer skin care might not be enough now that the air is getting cold and dry. A richer moisturizer is a must during the winter to protect the skin barrier and keep the skin hydrated.

My recommendation:
M Picaut Diamond Extreme Pro Collagen Super Rich Cream is a fantastic moisturizing cream that helps to provide moisture and nourishment to the skin and protects against dehydration. Perfect for giving the skin a soft and supple feeling despite the cold. Extra plus is that it works anti-aging too.

2. Clean gently

Avoid strong cleaning products that can further dry out the skin. Instead, invest in a gentle cleanser that effectively removes dirt and makeup without disturbing the skin's natural balance.

My recommendation:
Circadia Amandola Mild is a gentle but effective cleanser that is great in the cold months. Also contains lactic acid, so is also a little exfoliating to remove dead skin cells.

3. Add a moisture serum to your routine

Serum is a perfect boost for the skin during the winter. A serum that contains a lot of moisture is suitable for all skin types.

My recommendation:
M Picaut Hydra Miracle Serum is an excellent choice for those who want to give the skin extra moisture during the cold months. Can also be layered under other serums, which is perfect during the winter.

4. Mix Hydralox into your cream for extra protection

On really cold days, the skin may need extra help to protect itself from dehydration. I recommend mixing a few drops of Circadia Hydralox into your day or night cream to give your skin extra nourishment. It's a great product that really makes a difference when the cold bites.

5. Use a moisturizing face mask

A face mask can give the skin a much-needed boost and help restore balance. Feel free to use at least once a week to give the skin a little extra love.

My recommendation:
M picaut Hydra Lagoon Overnight Mask l bakes and moisturizes the skin in depth - a real savior in need for winter-weary skin. You can also leave this mask on all night and really bathe the skin in moisture.

6. Take care of your lips

The lips are especially exposed to cold and dry air, so don't forget to protect them! A good lip balm is your best friend during the winter. Remember to choose one that provides moisture to the lips and doesn't just sit on top and dry out the lips even more.
My recommendation:
Circadia Hydrating Lip Balm moisturizes and softens the lips, while protecting against dryness. Also contains collagen stimulating ingredients to boost lip volume.

Hope these tips help you keep your skin glowing even in the coldest months! Take care of yourself and your skin, and don't hesitate to ask if you need more advice.
